30 minutes daily beats three hours once a week. Consistency is the single biggest factor in language learning. Even five minutes of vocabulary on your phone counts.
The DUO practice exams above use exactly the same interface and question style as the real exam. Practise with them early so the format is familiar on exam day, with no surprises.
Dutch radio (NPO Radio 1), the NOS news app, or Dutch TV shows with subtitles, even as background. Your ear needs exposure to natural spoken Dutch, not just textbook audio.
Don't just read vocabulary silently. Say the words aloud. Record yourself reading short Dutch texts. The Speaking exam requires you to produce Dutch under pressure, so practise that from the start.
Letters from the gemeente, signs in the supermarket, menus, packaging: read everything around you in Dutch. Real-life reading practice reinforces what you learn in lessons.
Self-study takes you far, but a teacher spots what you can't see yourself. If you keep making the same mistakes or feel uncertain, one focused lesson with Geert can save weeks of confusion.
